Hetch Hetchy April 2019

As ski season was coming to an epic close, we were looking to go on a backpacking trip. We were determined to not get foiled by the snow or weather this time around. While this limited our options significantly, we ended up settling on Hetch Hetchy in Yosemite National Park due to its low elevation. We set off to Rancheria Falls, ready to do some hiking and have a good time. Unfortunately, good ski seasons and early season backpacking have an inverse relationship, so despite our intentions, we ended up getting foiled by the high water levels. As we were hiking out on Sunday, we got to the bridge at Wapama Falls only to find a park ranger there, telling us the bridge is closed due to the waterfall flowing over it. Because of this, the park rangers gave us a boat ride around the falls.
